What is Anger?
The survival instinct - attempting to protect
you. It's part of the 'fight-flight-freeze and f**k' response.
Your brain:

stores memories (hippocampus) and pattern
matches to previous events.

fires up the alarm system (amygdala) ready for
action

blocks the reasoning (cortex) and jumps to
conclusions "It's all or nothing!"
What happens?

Adrenalin surges into the blood stream -
preparing the body for action

Cortisol increases - to help focussing

Testosterone increases - to increase
aggression

Breathing quickens - pumping more oxygen into
the blood

Blood pressure goes up - to move blood away
from vital organs into the limbs ready for fighting or fleeing
