Ethical Considerations

 

Therapists are expected to discuss some case situations in supervision or in anonymised published case studies.  This will be in accordance with Human Givens Institute policies on confidentiality, supervision and case studies.  The purpose is to improve practice and extend knowledge.  Prior to any case studies being published in this way, clients are asked yes/no to the possibility of their case study being discussed in an anonymised way.  Either way, it does not affect treatment.

It is of paramount importance that the identity of clients who offer up their case study for publication is protected.  The following guidelines are adhered to when publishing case studies:

• So identification risk is minimised the clients names are changed

• Incidental information (clients occupations, relatives or other key information) is changed or omitted

• References to locations and organisations are changed or omitted.

• To further protect clients, their gender may be changed in the case study examples

 

 

Legal Statement

If you have a serious medical condition these Workshops, Seminars and Private & Group sessions are not a substitute for treatment by a qualified doctor. It is not legal for therapists of alternative practices to diagnose, treat or cure illness, but it is legal for alternative therapists to offer to educate people and offer guidance tools to keep their bodies’ energies healthy.  The Energy Therapy Workshops are taught by an Advanced Practitioner of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). Course materials can be made available.  Private sessions by arrangement.
