Text Box: TOP TIP I want to kick things off by telling you a little known method counsellors use to keep you returning week after week, month after month, going round and round which may sink you further into the pit of despair. Some counsellors ask you to face your partner with things you dislike and want to change about them - even to the point of making a list about the things you 'hate' about your partner and discuss it with them.  Although this is designed to make them (your partner) aware of what they are doing wrong to you, it only serves to highlight what you don't like about this person and why you want to separate. Kaye advises you to do the opposite. Instead, make a list of the things that you do like about your partner.  Remember a time when you met - what made you fall in love?  What was the characteristic or deed they did that made you think 'this is the one for me!' ?
